Apples QuickTime player doesn't come with many codex's, so here is a pack with around 90 codex's, plays all my downloaded films fine.
All you need to do to install is move all the files in the extracted "QTCodecs" folder to:
Machintosh HD(Your hard drive)/Library/QuickTime
